Following an extensive two-year renovation of the Paphos Beach Hotel, the town's first ever seaside hotel which first opened in 1972, Thanos Hotels launched Almyra in June 2003. The 190 rooms have been enlarged and redesigned, and the signature suites, aptly named Kyma Suites (meaning 'wave' in Greek) feature rooftop terraces offering breathtaking views of the sea and the harbour, which are candle-lit at night.
The property's two freshwater pools were rebuilt to include one especially for children and the four restaurants reflect the new philosophy of Almyra. The executive chef of the gastronomic restaurants has introduced a new creative Japanese-Mediterranean fusion menu.
